SUMMARY
Domestic sales and cement exports in Q3 continued to be bleak, even declining compared to Q2. Specifically, export volume fell by 12% compared to Q2 and decreased by 13% year-on-year. Notably, exports to ASEAN and Bangladesh saw a sharp decline in Q3.
Domestic sales of finished cement also dropped compared to the previous quarter, particularly experiencing a significant downturn in the second half of September due to continuous rain and storms affecting the progress of many construction projects.
Cumulatively for Q3 2024, total consumption across the sector decreased compared to the same period last year, while production volume continued to rise due to the ongoing commissioning of new production lines.
