SUMMARY
 
The total mobilized output of the whole system in Q1/2023 reached 61.83 billion kWh, down slightly by 1.9% compared to last year. Low demand leads to a decrease in the mobilized output of most power sources, except for renewable energy. Specifically, compared to the same period last year, hydropower decreased by 6.7%, coal-fired power decreased by 1.2%, and gas thermal power decreased by 5.6%. Renewable energy output grew slowly, increasing by 2.1% over the previous year (reaching 10.2 billion kWh).
 
Power demand in Q2 is forecast to increase by only 1.7% compared to last year and 15.8% compared to the previous quarter. (Although the demand for electricity for production and business may still be low, the demand for domestic electricity may increase due to the hot season). According to Vietdata's estimate, hydropower may continue to decrease by 5% compared to the previous quarter. Lack of hydropower, so other power sources are expected to be mobilized to compensate. Renewable power may still increase by 12% compared to the previous quarter.
