[VI] RUBBER INDUSTRY REPORT 2022 & OUTLOOK 2023

SUMMARY

In 2022, rubber exports hit a new record, both in volume and value. Specifically, compared to the same period in 2021, output increased by 9.7% and value increased by 1.1%. China continues to be the largest export market of Vietnamese rubber (accounting for 75% in volume). In addition, unlike other industries, export volume still increased well in the second half of the year, even increasing strongly in Q4/2022. The export situation was positive but the average export price decreased gradually in the second half of the year following the general trend of world prices.

The total export volume of the whole industry in 2M/2023 continues to decrease. In particular, the EU, US, Indian, Korean, and Indian markets have not shown signs of improvement. And the Turkish market turned bad because the socio-economic situation in this country was suffering heavy losses after the earthquake in February 2023.
