SUMMARY
In August, sales for businesses were sluggish. Exports decreased by more than 14% compared to the same period last year, marking the lowest level since the beginning of the year (except for February). Exports to most markets declined, with the exceptions being the small markets of Chile and Cambodia.
Domestic sales remained low compared to 2022 and earlier, although this was the fourth consecutive month of positive growth compared to the same period in 2023.
Outlook: It is forecasted that domestic cement sales may continue to decline in September and October. The reason is that in the northern region and central provinces, there have been consecutive storms and heavy rains, affecting the demand and progress of large construction projects.
