SUMMARY
In Q3/2024, seafood exports continued to accelerate.
- The export value of the entire sector for the quarter reached nearly $2.82 billion, an increase of 14-15% compared to the previous quarter and the same period last year.
- The export volume of many products hit record highs. The export value also approached the peak reached in Q2/2022.
- The prices of pangasius and shrimp exports showed signs of recovery, albeit modestly.
- The supply of raw materials for various seafood types was mostly positive, except for a slight decrease in pangasius harvest compared to Q2/2024.
Notably, Vietnam's seafood exports to the US, China, and Hong Kong continued to increase despite a decline in total seafood imports of these markets.
