[VI] TEXTILE AND GARMENT & FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY REPORT - JUNE 2024

SUMMARY

Although not yet recovered to the peak level of the same period in 2022, the export of the entire Textile, Garment and Footwear industry is still on the path to recovery. Many enterprises have enough production orders until the end of the year. Most enterprises are confident of achieving their revenue plans in 2024, even growing quite well.

Specifically, the export value of the entire industry in the first 5 months of the year increased by 5% compared to the same period in 2023. Exports to many key markets still maintained positive growth compared to the same period, except for Canada. Notably, exports to China increased, surpassing Japan and becoming the 3rd largest export market after the US and EU.

In May, the export value of most major commodity groups increased compared to the previous month but decreased compared to May 2023 (except for footwear, which still increased).
