In October 2023, industry-wide exports increased again, after a decline in September, but the increase was not much. Support was mainly due to orders for footwear, handbags, and yarn.
In terms of markets, the most positive increases were in China and the EU, up 16%-30% over the previous month. Exports to other major markets such as the US, CPTPP (except Canada), and ASEAN had more modest increases.
Outlook: Although some businesses in the industry said the order situation is relatively more positive, in general, businesses in the industry still face many difficulties. The ability to recover demand in major markets remains precarious and uncertain, and product and processing prices remain low.
